Cellecta’s LentiTrans™ Lentiviral Transduction Reagent is a pre-formulated, easy to use polybrene solution to maximize transduction of any lentivirus. Just add a few microliters to your media during viral inoculation. No preparation necessary. Polybrene is a cationic polymer that enables viral particles to interact more easily with the cell surface. A small amount of the Lenti-Transduction Reagent, which is innocuous to most cell types, into the media during transduction improves rates viral uptake significantly.

Transdux Max Lentivirus Transduction Reagent is a high-performance reagent for efficient transduction of lentiviral particles into a wide range of mammalian cells including primary, stem, and difficult-to-transduce cells. It is a proprietary formulation of polycations that efficiently complexes lentiviral particles for greatly enhanced transduction while exhibiting low toxicity. Transdux Max is animal-origin free, making it suitable for therapeutic applications. It is provided as a 200X concentrated solution to be diluted for use at an optimal ratio with the lentiviral particles. Transdux Max enables high transduction efficiencies at low MOIs for hard-to-transduce cells.

The rate at which retroviral vectors bind to and infect cells is mostly controlled by diffusion. During retrovirus infection, only a small fraction of the retroviral vectors can transduce target cells. Virion adsorption is the limiting step of this process. The use of polycations, such as Polybrene, is standard in many retroviral infection protocols owing to the observations of improved infection efficiency. Its mechanism of action is thought to involve neutralization of electrostatic repulsion between virion and cell membranes, enhancing attachment. ViraDuctin™ Retrovirus Transduction Kit is a proprietary formulation for the transduction of retrovirus. After forming a complex with retrovirus in culture medium, the ViraDuctin™ reagents typically provide higher transduction efficiency in many cell types compared to reagents such as Polybrene.
